Biography:

Eric Verploeg, MD holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Iowa, College of Medicine. Born in Omaha, Dr. Verploeg did his undergraduate work at Iowa State. In 1982, after obtaining his MD, he performed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of New Mexico Hospitals in Albuquerque. A fellowship in Orthopaedic Traumatology took him abroad to Switzerland and Germany, then returned to the states partnering with John R Steadman, MD of South Lake Tahoe, California, completing a fellowship focusing in Knee & Sports Medicine in July 1988. Dr. Verploeg has been a partner for the past 20+ years with Orthopaedics of Steamboat Springs –practicing the full range of general and advanced orthopedic surgery, including arthroscopy, total joint replacement, and sports injuries.
Dr. Verploeg holds membership in many professional organizations including the Colorado Orthopaedic Society since 1989 and the Denver Medical Society since 1993. He is a fellow with the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, as well as with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
